About Us

Central Yorkshire County Scouts

Central Yorkshire Scouts serves the metropolitan areas of Leeds and Wakefield in the north of England. We have a vibrant membership which is several thousand strong. Our Scout County is situated from Pontefract and Castleford in the south-east to Wetherby in the north.

We operate eight Scout Districts and host a wide variety of activity centres and campsites. We operate the Alwark water activity centre, for more information visit: www.aldwark.org

The Scouts Movement

The Scout Association is the largest youth organisation in the world. There are 500,000 members in the UK alone. Scouting offers fun and exciting activities for girls and boys from the age of 6 - 25 years.

Scouting in the UK is organised through the Scout Association. Its purpose is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritiual potential as individuals, as respsonsible citizens and as members of their local, national and internationals communities.

How to Join

If your child is interested in joining the world-wide family of Scouting or you would like to contribute and become a member of the team, then there's a Scout Group meeting near you. For further information about Scouting contact:
