Out and About with Shire Oak
Guiseley to Ilkley Walk with 9th. Airedale Sunday 22nd. January 2006 In preparation for Rombald's Stride Stephen Lock, ASL with the 9th. Airedale Scout Group, lead a practice walk from Guiseley to Ilkley. The walk followed the route of the Rombald's Stride covering half the distance of the event some 12 miles. From the start point at Guiseley the route went through Esholt Woods over Baildon Moor, the long trek across Rombald's Moor to Ilkley and then the train back to Guiseley. Allowing 7 hours gave ample time to enjoy the views and pit stops. |
