"Jungle Jamboree" - Shire Oak's District Cub Scout Section Swimming Gala - The Cub Scout Swimming Gala with a difference.

Saturday 16th. April 2005 at Aireborough Leisure Centre, Guiseley.

Adel Methodist Cub Pack were the winners of Shire Oak's Swimming Gala for Cub Scouts. They were presented with the Dolphin Trophy and winner's Certificate.

This was an excellent result for Adel Methodist in their celebratory 50th. anniversary year as a Scout Group.

The runner-up this year were Holy Name Cub Pack.

In joint third place were Bramhope and 7th. Airedale Packs.

Thirteen Cub Packs from the District enjoyed the Gala which provided a unique evening of fun and excitement for the Cubs.

Everyone certainly responded to the challenge of the events with some powerful performances. These resulted in incredible close finishes which had everyone on the edge of their seats willing their Cubs to win.

The dinghy fun events, particularly "Banderlog's R Us" - the dinghy relay, always prove popular. The inenvitable spills adding to the superb atmosphere generated around the pool.
