On the 11th September we welcomed over 150 Young People from across Central Yorkshire to New Dock Hall for our Annual Presentation Evening to celebrate their amazing achievements in gaining our top awards- Chief Scouts Awards, Duke of Edinburgh’s, Young Leader Belts and Queen’s Scouts Awards. In a fabulous evening- completely organised by our Youth Commissioners and Youth Team, we welcomed the Mayor of Leeds, the Children’s Mayor and the Vice Lord Lieutenant as well as Ian Chappell and Hannah Kentish.

Before the official awards presentations there was a host of activities provided by several Districts including log sawing, ribbon flowers and para-cording for our attendees to take part in as well as our activity centres and teams coming along with displays to share the great things they’re up to! Thank You to everyone who helped us provide a display/activity. Once the evening commenced we celebrated all our awardees on stage, this year we arranged for a photographer to capture each attendee based on feedback we received at our County Youth Forum earlier this year. These photos have been printed, framed and are on there way to you right now! The evening was concluded with an inspirational talk from Hannah explaining how failure is not always such a bad thing and that sometimes it can provide the motivation you need.

A huge thank you to all our attendees, be Young People, Parents, Supporters and Leaders- without your support this event simply wouldn’t happen! We also thank James Nehaul, Mathew Milner and the County Youth Team for planning, organising and delivering this fantastic event. If you have any feedback on this years event please do share it with us to enable us to make positive change.

Some photographs from the evening can be found in our Gallery here.

Each award holder has been sent through the post their own photo of their award being presented.   Further copies can be ordered from our photographer here.
