County Expedition – 2020

Between: 27th July 2020 - 21st August 2020 Location: Marakesh, Morocco

The County Expedition to Morocco is gearing up for the first training weekend in November.

The Explorer Scouts will meet each other, and the Leader Team, for the first time and discover the adventure that lies ahead.

Morocco is culturally and geographically a fantastic country to explore. The expedition will spent time trekking with camels in the Sahara, bivouacking in the desert and gaining an incredible experience into the nomadic life of the Berber.

From the desert the expedition will spend time in the High Atlas and have the opportunity to summit Jbel Toubkal (4167m), the highest mountain in North Africa.

A project with Atlas Children will see the expedition support children who have been abandoned and who are cared for in a village near to Marrakech.

Prior to flying home everyone will have the chance to explore the medina and souks of the royal city of Marrakech.
