2019 St Georges Day Awards

Central Yorkshire Scouts are delighted to be able to announce 7 very special awards.

These awards recognise those inspirational adult volunteers who go above and beyond what is expected of them. I’m sure you will all join me in congratulating and thanking them for their incredible service to Central Yorkshire Scouts.

I hope they won’t mind me sharing that between them these leaders have given almost 300 incredible years of service to Scouting!

The Silver Wolf is the highest award for service to Scouting and is awarded in recognition of the most exceptional service:

* Jennifer Varley – County Team
* Brian Beardsley – Pontefract and Castleford District and Gilwell Park Active Support.

The Bar to the Silver Acorn is awarded in recognition of further specially distinguished service and is seldom awarded for less than 25 years’ service:

* Izzy Bee –Wetherby District
* Barbara Parsons –Tadcaster Group and Wetherby District.
* Julie Hull – Shire Oak District, County trainer and Regional Administrator.

The Silver Acorn is awarded in recognition of specially distinguished service and is seldom awarded for less than 20 years’ service:

* David Grindrod – North Leeds District.
* Andy Gamble – Cookridge Group and Shire Oak District.

I extend my personal Congratulations to all of these leaders who make this a very special and proud day for Central Yorkshire Scouts. I hope they will all be able to attend the day of celebration in Windsor on the 28th April.
