25th World Scout Jamboree – Summer 2023

Date: 20th Jul 2021 Author: Cathryn Atkinson

A World Scout Jamboree is an event for young people aged between 14 and 18. It is a gathering of Scouts and Guides from all over the world for an exciting programme of global development, peace, cultural understanding, adventure, fun and friendship.

The 25th World Scout Jamboree will take place in SaeManGeum, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea from the 1 to the 12 August 2023.

The Jamboree will be held at the SaeManGeum waterfront which is on the West Coast of South Korea, approximately 130 miles to the south of the capital city, Seoul.

Central Yorkshire Scouts is now opening applications for the Leadership of the Jamboree Unit together with applications for Participants.  Each of the application forms are below:

Participant – Application Form

Participant – Consent Form

Unit Leaders – Selection Pack

Unit Leader – Reference Form

Please note to be an eligible youth participant, you must have been born between 22 July 2005 and 31 July 2009

Additional information about the event, the selection process and the timescales can be found here:

25th WSJ Selection Timeline – July 15

All timescales are subject to change based on the current Covid-19 regulations and restrictions.

HQ is currently working on the costs for the UK Contingent participants and leadership for the Jamboree, which we envisage will be in line with previous Jamborees.  As with previous Jamborees, the costs will be paid in instalments and the instalment payment period is likely to run during 2022 and 2023.

Further information has been released from the UK Contingent to the County, and we have taken the decision to change the timescales for the Jamboree Application and Selection Programme. If you have already applied, please review the Timeline document on this website, and note the change of date for the closing of Applications and the change of date of the Selection Weekend at Bramhope.

We have been reacting to changes in Covid-19 guidance, as have the UK Contingent Team, but we hope that this will be the last change of dates that we have to make. We apologise for moving the programme around, and hope that you understand the reasons for us having to do so.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
