The Youth Commissioners’ Challenge 2020

The impact we have on our planet has never being more prevalent and the need to protect our world has never being more pressing.

This years Youth Commissioners’ Challenge recognises how much this means to todays Young People and encourages all of our members to get involved and play their part in preparing our home for a better future.

The Challenge is Simple. Young People & Adult Volunteers alike must select a key issue from the following five:

  • Climate Change
  • Energy Usage
  • Waste, Recycling and Single-Use Plastics
  • Travel and Transport
  • Wildlife & Conservation

You must then:

Learn about the issue both Locally and Internationally

You can tackle more than one issue at once, and you have the whole year to complete any/all the elements!

Completed It?

Once you’ve completed all 3 Steps towards an Issue then we’ll send out a badge at no cost to your group!

Simple let Cathryn (cathryn.atkinson@cycscouts.org.uk) know the following details:

-Group Name
-Section
-The Issue you’ve tackled
-What your Action was
-What your Campaigning was
-How many badges you require

We’ll keep track of the elements you complete and if you manage all 5 you’ll earn a super limited ‘Changemaker’ Badge which we will personally present.

As with all badges in The Scouts, a degree of flexibility is permissible and you should feel empowered to make any reasonable adjustments necessary.
