Adrian Cooper – County Lead Volunteer

Hello everyone,

I hope you have all had a fantastic summer! I know many of you will have taken a well-earned break, while others will have continued with activities and summer camps.

Personally, I spent nine days in Kandersteg, Switzerland, with 29 young people, taking part in a full programme packed with adventurous activities. It would be great to hear what you have all been up to. Please share your experiences on the county Facebook page, or send them to us so that we can feature them in our next newsletter.

Your adventures might just provide the idea or inspiration that another group or district need for their next adventure.

I want to thank everyone who has sent their good wishes and congratulations. I’d also like to thank those who have brought things to my attention — I will be getting back in touch with you.

I will be getting out and about across the county as much as possible, giving people the opportunity to meet me, have a chat and, most importantly, share their thoughts, ideas and experiences.

I mentioned in my introductory email that there are always opportunities for people to get involved with county activities and events. A great example of this was the number of new people who got involved with Challenge 26 and the difference they all made.

It might seem like a big step, but take that step and embrace the challenge that comes with it, after all we are scouts. We look forward to having you as part of the team.

Once again, I want to take this opportunity to thank Carol for all her hard work and dedication in supporting the delivery of high-quality Scouting across Central Yorkshire.
Her enthusiasm, commitment and passion have helped shape Central Yorkshire Scouts into what it is today, and I am very grateful for everything she has done. I know she will still be around, so please share your thanks with her when you see her.
