Scout Network (18-25 years)
Welcome to Central Yorkshire Scout Network
Scout Network is for everyone in Scouting who is aged between 18 and 25, who want to continue their Scouting journey after finishing Explorer Scouts. You do not have to be a volunteer in a section to be a member of Scout Network but if you are that’s great. The great thing about Scout Network is membership is FREE and you and the other Scout Network Members in your District decide what you do and when. With all activities and events based on a pay as you go.
Contacting Scout Network Members
All Scout Network Members have to be on UK Scouting system Compass. It is your contact details from Compass that we use to contact you, so please check that your details on Compass are correct. If you are not sure if you are on Compass, or your new/wanting to join Scouting, please email our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright (email@example.com) who will arrange for your details to be added to Compass as a Scout Network Member.
District Scout Network
Not all Districts currently have a District Scout Network Commissioner.
If you want to know more please contact your District Commissioner and/or our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright (e: firstname.lastname@example.org).
County Scout Network Events
As well as District meetings and events we also have some County meetings and events. Below are details of some events we have already done and some coming up for all Scout Network members across Central Yorkshire County.
- Our first County Scout Network Information Event was held on 18th February 2018. It was well attended and feedback from the event was very positive. Attendees decided they wanted more County events and activities focusing on the three Scout Network Programme areas of Adventure, Community and International as well as setting up a group for Scout Network Members wanting to complete their Top Awards.
- Our first Top Awards Evening held on 6th April 2018 wasn’t so well attended so unfortunately no expedition teams were formed.
- County Scout Network Caving Day – Saturday 4 August 2018 in the Yorkshire Dales. Cost is £10 for the session. Spaces are limited, so please email our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright to secure your place and obtain more details.
- Top Awards Evening – We will be running a series of events over the next year. If you are registered for any of the top awards you will be contacted direct with details of the event. If you have not registered yet but would like to attend an event please email our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright (email@example.com).
Have you almost completed your Queen’s Scout Award?
If you aged between 18 and 25 and almost completed your Queen’s Scout Award you must email our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright (e: firstname.lastname@example.org) before you arrange your QS presentation. This is the only way your award will be approved.
Part Completed Awards
Are you aged between 18 and 25? Are you part way through completing your Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh but now you have left Explorer Scouts not sure what you should do? Please email our Assistant County Commissioner for Scout Network, Joyce Wright (e: email@example.com) with your name and eDofE number so that Joyce can have your record transferred to the new Central Yorkshire County Scout Network part of eDofE and also provide support and guidance to enable you to complete your award.
